Hello! I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Massachusetts Global as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Human Development from California State University, Long Beach. I possess three years of clinical experience working with many diverse populations including children, adolescents, adults, and families facing various challenges such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, and family and relationship difficulties. I employ a client-centered approach that tailors to the unique needs of each individual. I also utilize psychodynamic, emotionally focused, and humanistic therapeutic modalities.
During my upbringing, I faced several challenges, including witnessing family members battling substance abuse and the early loss of my father due to his addiction. My decision to pursue a career in psychology and become a therapist was a natural progression of my personal experiences and passion for assisting others going through hardship. Having developed a healthy collection of self-help resources during my teenage years, I found myself drawn to the field of psychology. After completing my introductory psychology course in college, I developed a strong interest in pursuing a professional career in the fields of psychotherapy, counseling, and mental health. These interests subsequently evolved into a passionate commitment for sharing the significance of therapy as a transformative tool for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.
My goal as your therapist is to open up new perspectives for overcoming personal barriers, holding space for feelings, providing unconditional positive regard for your lived experience, and aid in the development of your fullest potential.
