My name is Amanda and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and believe being a woman of color and first generation college graduate, benefits my abilities as a therapist. Building rapport and trust is profound when working together, so I strive to create a non-judgmental, honest, and empathetic environment. An environment tailored to your needs and allowing space for you to process your emotions and experiences in a humanistic and real way. You are your own person above all else – you have your own experiences, opinions, views, and I strive not to invalidate who you are, but support you with getting to where you want to be.
I received my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from New York University and I have training and experience working with veterans, teenagers, foster youth, Latinx, newly immigrated, previously incarcerated, parents, LGBTQ+, and the zero to five population. My clinical experience is often related to trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting challenges, and life adjustments. I utilize a trauma informed, strengths based approach in my work, while acknowledging systems, cultural influences, and barriers that may be impacting you to meet your personal goals.
I am here to support you with any complex feelings and experiences, listen to what you are wanting to gain from therapy, and to remind you that you do not have to go through it alone. Therapy can feel intimidating and/or overwhelming, and I am here to help you carry those feelings, so that you can focus on what really matters to you.
